On August 19, 2025, a Russian client visited Harbin Dongan Building Sheets Co., Ltd. to inspect the company’s manufacturing facilities and discuss an integrated industrial building project covering both steel structures and building envelope systems. Rather than focusing on a single product, the visit centered on the relationship between the structural frame, the building envelope and their coordination within the overall project.
For an industrial building, the steel structure and building envelope cannot always be treated as completely separate elements. Steel columns, beams, roofing and wall systems need to be coordinated during design, fabrication and construction. For overseas projects in particular, a supplier’s ability to understand both structural and enclosure requirements can affect material interfaces, transportation planning and installation efficiency.
The Russian client’s visit was therefore focused on understanding Dongan’s supply capabilities from an overall project perspective. Instead of simply requesting quotations or reviewing product information, the factory visit allowed the client to discuss how different products could work together and to consider potential interfaces between the steel structure and building envelope based on the actual project requirements.
During the factory visit, the Dongan team introduced the production and fabrication processes for steel components and building envelope products. The client reviewed the relevant manufacturing stages, including steel component fabrication, panel production and quality control, while also discussing potential product specifications and production arrangements for the project.
One of the key topics was how the structural frame and wall and roof envelope systems could remain coordinated throughout project execution. For industrial buildings and warehouses, panel specifications, connection details, openings and interfaces with the main structure can all affect installation efficiency. Discussing these elements at an early stage can help reduce adjustments during construction.
Dongan is mainly involved in steel structures, building envelope systems and various cold storage projects, with experience in industrial buildings, warehouses and related construction applications. During this visit, the discussion therefore extended beyond individual products to overall project supply, including production schedules, product configurations, export packaging and logistics arrangements.
For the Russian client, the factory inspection was not simply a review of manufacturing capacity. It also provided an opportunity to evaluate how a potential supplier could coordinate with the project. Direct communication made it easier for both sides to clarify product requirements and discuss potential interfaces between design, fabrication, transportation and installation.
The visit also reflected growing interest in integrated supply solutions for industrial construction. For an overseas project, sourcing the steel structure and building envelope from separate suppliers can increase coordination requirements. A supplier capable of discussing both areas within the same project framework may provide a more coordinated approach to product interfaces and supply organization.
Following the visit, both sides will continue technical and commercial discussions as the project develops and further confirm the configurations and supply schedules for the steel structure and building envelope systems. Dongan will continue to draw on its manufacturing and project supply experience to provide overseas industrial building projects with more coordinated product support.
