On October 16, 2025, a client from Gambia visited Harbin Dongan Building Sheets Co., Ltd. to inspect the company’s factory and discuss a modular cold storage project. The visit focused on the required cold storage products, manufacturing capabilities, quality control and potential supply arrangements, providing both sides with an opportunity to discuss the project directly.
During the factory inspection, the Dongan team accompanied the client through the production workshops and related manufacturing areas, introducing the company’s production processes, product fabrication and quality control procedures for cold storage products. The client was able to gain a direct view of the production process, from material processing to finished cold storage products, while also learning more about Dongan’s manufacturing organization and project supply capabilities.
Modular cold storage projects generally involve a significant amount of prefabrication before the components are transported to the project site for assembly. The dimensions of cold storage panels, thermal insulation performance, connection methods, cold room doors and related components therefore need to be properly coordinated to support transportation and installation. These practical considerations were also discussed during the factory inspection.
Dongan is mainly involved in steel structures, building envelope systems and various cold storage projects, with experience in supplying cold storage panels, cold room doors and related enclosure systems. For the modular cold storage project discussed during the visit, both sides exchanged views on the intended application, product configuration, panel specifications and supply arrangements. The client also reviewed the relevant products and manufacturing conditions in relation to the actual project requirements.
The project discussions also covered quality control, production schedules, packaging and export logistics. For an overseas customer, an on-site factory inspection provides a direct way to evaluate a supplier’s manufacturing capabilities and helps both sides confirm product requirements and supply procedures before moving forward with formal cooperation.
Compared with evaluating a supplier through photographs, product documents and online meetings, a factory visit allows customers to directly observe production equipment, fabrication conditions and quality management procedures. For modular cold storage projects, this type of communication is particularly useful for discussing panel dimensions, fabrication, cold room door coordination, packaging, transportation and on-site installation, helping reduce potential information gaps during project execution.
The visit also represented another step in Dongan’s engagement with the African cold-chain market. As food processing, agricultural storage and logistics continue to develop in parts of Africa, demand for temperature-controlled storage facilities is receiving increasing attention. Modular cold storage can be configured according to project scale and available space, making it suitable for different types of small and medium-sized cold-chain applications.
Following the visit, both sides will continue technical and commercial discussions as the project develops, further confirming product configurations, production schedules and supply arrangements.
