Sichuan Airlines Maintenance Hangar Enclosure System Project in China

Project type: Large-scale building enclosure system project

Project location: Harbin city, China

Project scale:12,500 ㎡

Project Description:

Sichuan Airlines maintenance hangar enclosure system project in Harbin is located at Harbin Taiping International Airport, Heilongjiang Province, China. The project covers a total site area of approximately 12,500 sqm, with a building area of about 11,052 sqm and a total investment of approximately RMB 121 million. It consists of aircraft maintenance hangars, service garages, and hazardous material storage facilities, designed to support maintenance and operational services for Airbus A319, A320, and A321 aircraft.

Harbin is located in Northeast China’s severe cold climate zone, characterized by extremely low winter temperatures, significant freeze-thaw cycles, and relatively high snow and wind load conditions. These environmental factors impose strict requirements on the thermal insulation performance, structural stability, and airtightness of large-span hangar enclosure systems. As a high-frequency operational facility, aircraft hangars require frequent opening of oversized doors for aircraft entry and exit, resulting in substantial indoor-outdoor temperature exchange and increased energy control challenges, which further elevate the demand for rapid thermal recovery and high-performance envelope systems.

In addition, aviation maintenance facilities require extremely high operational safety standards, including large-span column-free space for aircraft maintenance operations, as well as strict fire compartmentation and safety isolation for hazardous material storage areas. Under combined conditions of severe cold climate and intensive operational usage, the enclosure system must ensure thermal insulation, wind resistance, airtightness, fire safety, and long-term durability to guarantee stable year-round operation.

This project demonstrates the company’s capability in large-scale aviation maintenance hangar enclosure systems and high-performance building envelope solutions for severe cold industrial environments.
